Popular Kinds of Dental Braces

The other name for dental braces is orthodontic braces that are known to fix problems of the teeth, particularly their alignment. To be able to fix the position of the teeth, the individual's bite is used as a reference. The usual problems that are being solved by dental braces are cross bites, open bites, under bites, and especially crooked teeth. The friction that is incurred by this brace is lessened through the use of ligating brackets.

Another alternative to silver braces could be the stainless steel braces that are gold-plated. This option has been created for individuals who are allergic to nickel and for some patients who prefer the look of gold.

Lingual braces are located behind the teeth. This looks better as compared to the traditional brace, but it is more difficult to adjust because it can affect the tongue's movement. A dentist must undergo training for lingual techniques before he can offer this kind of brace to patients.

Progressive clear retainers are removable braces which makes it easier for the individual when eating. This brace gradually fixes the alignment of the teeth until they are positioned in the right places. It has the same function as the traditional metal braces. This is not advisable for complex teeth problems.
